The Banking Bureau of the FSC continues to promote the “the Financial Literacy Campaign for the campus and community” in 2021


In order to assist consumers in establishing the correct concept of consumer finance and wealth management and debt management, the Banking Bureau of the FSC (“the Bureau”) has actively held the Financial Literacy Campaign for the campus and community in collaboration with the Bankers Association of the Republic of China, the National Federation of Credit Co-operatives R.O.C as well as Taiwan Academy of Banking and Finance, to make all-out effort to hold the school and community financial literacy since 2006.

The Bureau continues to promote the campaign this year and has issues a circular letter dated February 20th, 2021, informing local county and city governments as well as relevant central ministries to convey this campaign information for schools and organizations that are willing to participate to actively participate.

The events of the campaign are free of charge. The campaign run by financial lectures advocating throughout Taiwan has continued to receive enthusiastic response from the general public. As of February 2021, a total of 6,868 events has been held and more than 1.06 million people have attended. The  participants include students at all levels, communities, women’s groups, military service personnel, immigrants, indigenous people, senior citizens, social welfare groups, correctional institutions, police officers, fire fighters, coast guard personnel, and taxi drivers.      

The Financial Literacy Campaign is carried out by means of short videos, expert explanations and interactive Q&A, which includes the correct view of money usage, credit cards, financial management, debt management, fraud prevention and relief, consumer rights and obligation, etc. In order to improve the effectiveness of the campaign, the Bureau also conducts re-training for lecturers every year to strengthen their skills of teaching. At present, more than 400 talented lecturers have been trained. 

Besides, to strengthen the implementation of the financial consumption protection policies, in December 2020, the Bureau produced two financial literacy micro-films “Financial Transaction Security-Promotional Chapter (Title: Trust Priceless)” and ”Fraud-Prevented-Case Study (Title: The Truth About Bracelets)”, which has been put on the official website of the FSC(http://www.fsc.gov.tw). The Bureau welcomes the public to watch and share these movies.
