Outstanding SME Loans by Domestic Banks as of October 2017

The Financial Supervisory Commission (the FSC) has released that up until the end of October 2017, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$5,984 billion. The amount increased by NT$26.7 billion as compared to the amount at the end of September 2017.
Up until the end of October 2017, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 59.47% and 62.11% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, decreased by 0.09 and 0.10 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of September 2017. In October 2017, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.47% and increased by 0.03 percentage points as compared to the end of September 2017. The foresaid average NPL ratio was decreased by 0.03 percentage points as compared to the end of October 2016 and that means the quality of the SME loans is stable.
The FSC will encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with proper risk control and management. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and Medium Enterprises.
