The Financial Supervisory Commission (hereinafter referred to as FSC) granted approval to E.SUN Commercial Bank to file an application to the competent authority of Canada for the establishment of its Toronto Branch.
　In view of Canada's position among the top ten economies of the world, its mature and stable financial market, and rapid growth in bilateral trade, E.SUN Commercial Bank plans to set up the Toronto Branch to increase the bank's capacity for providing international financial services, enhance the bank's brand image for international financial services, and improve the bank's overseas financial service platform.
　As of the end of February 2024, E.SUN Commercial Bank has established 2 subsidiaries in Cambodia and Mainland China, 9 branches in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dong Nai, Sydney, Brisbane, Yangon, Tokyo, and Fukuoka, and 3 representative offices in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Bangkok.
　The FSC stated that 3 Taiwanese banks have set up presences in Canada, including First Commercial Bank and Mega International Commercial Bank with 4 branches as well as  CTBC Bank with 1 subsidiary.
