The FSC recently imposed an administrative fine of NT$20 million on E.Sun Commercial Bank after discovering that a former wealth manager at the bank had misappropriated customers' funds and engaged in abnormal fund transactions with customers. The improprieties were found to be in violation of Paragraph 1, Article 45-1 of the Banking Act, and the fine was imposed in accordance with Subparagraph 7, Article 129 of the same Act. The FSC also ordered the bank (pursuant to the provisions of Subparagraph 6, Paragraph 1, Article 61-1, of the Banking Act) to suspend the vice-president (surnamed Chang) in charge of the bank's wealth management division as well as the person (surnamed Chen) in charge of the bank's consumer banking division for three months.
