FSC Approves CTBC Bank to Apply for Establishing Representative Office in Houston, the United States

The Financial Supervisory Commission (hereinafter referred to as FSC) granted approval to CTBC Bank to file an application to the competent authority of the United States for the establishment of its Representative Office in Houston, Texas.
CTBC Bank currently has its New York Branch and Los Angeles Representative Office in the United States. The bank plans to set up its Representative Office in Houston to effectively help Taiwanese businesses and their supply chain for expansion in the United States.
As of the end of 2024, CTBC Bank had 6 subsidiaries in Indonesia, the Philippines, Canada, the United States, Japan and Thailand, 12 branches in Hong Kong, Kowloon, New Delhi, Sriperumbudur, New York, Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen and Shenzhen, and 7 representative offices in Bangkok, Hanoi, Beijing, Los Angeles, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney and Yangon.
The FSC states that Taiwanese banks now have 25 branches, 3 subsidiaries, and 3 representative offices in the United States, including 2 branches in Texas.
