Statistics of Credit Card, Cash Card & Electronic Payment Institutions Business Operation as of March 2025

1. Credit Card:
As of March 2025, thirty-two credit card issuing institutions were in operation in Taiwan. The number of effective cards totaled 58.99 million (58.75 million at the end of February 2025) among which the total active cards numbered in 39.25 million (39.19 million at the end of February 2025). The balance of revolving credit was NT$113.1 billion (NT$112.8 billion at the end of February 2025). The amount of undue balance of installment was approximately NT$167.5 billion (NT$175.5 billion at the end of February 2025). The amount of monthly retail sales was approximately NT$377.2 billion (NT$395.3 billion for February 2025). The amount of monthly write-off was approximately NT$ 0.64 billion (NT$ 0.61 billion for February 2025). Average ratio of delinquency credit (pass-due over three months) against account receivables (including non-accrual amounts) was 0.31% ( 0.3% at the end of February 2025) (Please see Attachment 1).
2. Cash Card:
As of March 2025, thirteen financial institutions were engaging in cash card business in Taiwan. Total number of effective cash cards was 0.28 million (0.29 million at the end of February 2025). Total balance of cash card loans (including non-accrual amounts) was NT$10.2 billion (NT$10.3 billion at the end of February 2025). The amount of monthly write-off was approximately NT$26 million (NT$19 million for February 2025). The overall delinquency ratio was 1.169% (1.149% at the end of February 2025 ) (Please see Attachment 2).
3. Electronic Payment Institutions Business:
As of March 2025, there were nine specialized electronic payment institutions, and twenty electronic payment institutions were concurrently engaging in other businesses (included dual-status banks, Chunghwa Post Co, Ltd, and electronic stored value cards issuers).
(1) Stored Value Card:
The number of effective cards totaled 191.74 million (190.75 million at the end of February 2025). The number of cards in using was 13.81 million (13.73 million for February 2025). The amount of monthly retail sales was approximately NT$6.48 billion (NT$5.85 billion for February 2025). The balance of stored value was NT$ 15.24 billion (NT$15.28 billion at the end of February 2025) (Please see Attachment 3).
(2) Electronic Payment Account:
The number of users totaled 31.76 million (31.36 million at the end of February 2025). The monthly amount of funds collected or paid as an agent for actual transactions was NT$18.67 billion (NT$16.66 billion for February 2025). The monthly amount of funds for engaging in domestic or international small-amount remittance services was NT$18.36 billion (NT$16.45 billion for February 2025). The monthly amount of stored value funds was NT$30.26 billion (NT$28.43 billion for February 2025). The balance of the e-payment accounts in the e-payment institutions totaled NT$19.13 billion (NT$19.02 billion at the end of February 2025) (Please see Attachment 4).
4. The measurement indicators for non-cash payment transactions:
The number of non-cash payment transactions was 2.015 billion, and the total non-cash payment transaction amount was NT$ 2.04 trillion in the first quarter of 2025.

The number of users totaled 31.76 million (31.36 million at the end of February 2025). The monthly amount of funds collected or paid as an agent for actual transactions was NT$18.67 billion (NT$16.66 billion for February 2025). The monthly amount of funds for engaging in domestic or international small-amount remittance services was NT$18.36 billion (NT$16.45 billion for February 2025). The number of non-cash payment transactions was 2.015 billion, and the total non-cash payment transaction amount was NT$ 2.04 trillion in the first quarter of 2025.
