Outstanding SME Loans by Domestic Banks as of March 2023

The Financial Supervisory Commission has released that the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$9,283billion by the end of March 2023. The amount increased by NT$14.10 billion as compared to the amount at the end of February 2023.
Up until the end of March 2023, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 64.79% and 69.49% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, increased by 0.04 and 0.29 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of February 2023. In March 2023, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.25% and decreased by 0.01 percentage point as compared to the end of February 2023.
The Financial Supervisory Commission continues to encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with risk control and management in place. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and medium enterprises.
