Outstanding SME Loans by Domestic Banks as of August 2021

The Financial Supervisory Commission has released that up until the end of August 2021, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$8,393billion. The amount increased by NT$104.53 billion as compared to the amount at the end of July 2021.
Up until the end of August 2021, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 67.20% and 69.18% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, decreased by 0.16 and 0.19 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of July 2021. In August 2021, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.29% and decreased by 0.02 percentage point as compared to the end of July 2021.
The Financial Supervisory Commission continues to encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with risk control and management in place. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and medium enterprises.
