Outstanding SME Loans by Domestic Banks as of September 2017

The Financial Supervisory Commission (the FSC) has released that up until the end of September 2017, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$5,957 billion. The amount increased by NT$36 billion as compared to the amount at the end of August 2017.
Up until the end of September 2017, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 59.56% and 62.21% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, increased by 0.39 and 0.37 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of August 2017. In September 2017, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.44% and decreased by 0.01 percentage points as compared to the end of August 2017.
The FSC will encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with proper risk control and management. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and Medium Enterprises.
