Announced the forthcoming amendment to Article 2 and Article 21 of the“Regulations Governing Institutions Engaging In Credit Card Business” for public comments

  The Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) has proposed amendment draft to Article 2 and Article 21 of the“Regulations Governing Institutions Engaging In Credit Card Business” (hereinafter referred to as the“Draft Regulations”) and the period of public comments shall soon begin to obtain opinions of all sectors in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act.
  In line with the“ Company Act” that was amended on August 1, 2018, to abolish the foreign company recognition requirements, and the “Civil law” that was amended the age of adulthood to 18 years old on January 13, 2021, and was scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2023, FSC has amended the definition of “foreign credit card company” in subparagraph 6 of Article 2, and the age requirements of credit card applicants in Paragraph 1, Subparagraph 1 of Article 21 of the Draft Regulations. 
The FSC also stated that the Draft Regulation will be published in the official gazette of the Executive Yuan and the FSC website. If anyone has any comments, please visit the webpage “Notice of Draft Regulations” on the FSC “Laws and Regulations Retrieving System” website (URL: https://law.fsc.gov.tw/) and state your opinions within 60 days after the announcement.
