Outstanding SME Loans by Domestic Banks as of March 2016
The Financial Supervisory Commission has released that up until the end of March 2016, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$5,416.1 billion. The amount increased by NT$32 billion as compared to the amount at the end of February 2016.
Up until the end of March 2016, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 57.87% and 61.00% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, both increased by 0.01 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of February 2016. In March 2016, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.46% ,and the ratio is the same as the end of February 2016.
The Financial Supervisory Commission will encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with proper risk control and management. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and Medium Enterprises.
